Design Team Spotlight – Sue Kment

Spotlight alert…Spotlight alert…Spotlight alert!!!! Thank you for joining us on this weekend adventure of spotlights seeing what our incredible design team has been up to creatively.  As you can see they all have their very own unique styles and the reason we love them so much.  Next up is Sue Kment who loves the use of bold and bright colours and pieces we can’t help but smile at when seeing.  There is always a fun component to her projects which I just love.  Sue is all about adding dimension through pop ups, folds and diecuts so lets check out what she has been creating…

November Inspiration Wrap Up and Winner

Good Morning all!  I wanted to make sure we got all of November’s inspiration posted because there are some super awesome ideas you can take into your own holiday creating.  Hopefully they have inspired you to look at your supplies in a little different way in how you might already use them and create beautiful art.

Inspiration Galore!

Happy day to you all!  I hope it is shaping up to be a great week for you and if you are in need of inspiration we have you covered.  The submissions are coming in for this month’s challenge of Happy Holidays but there is still time for YOU!

Weekly Inspiration

Wow, where has this week gone???  Before we know it we will be writing January so we need to slow things down and enjoy this upcoming holiday season.  Our design team has been busy at work creating some incredible artwork that we would love to share.  Many of them are perfect pieces for our monthly challenge of Happy Holidays!  It is a great time to get started on the card or gift making so be sure to share your creations with us for your chance to win a $50 shopping spree with us at Inspiration Emporium.

Inspiration Monday

It is always a perfect time to think of all the incredible teachers we have that really make a difference in our kids lives.  Sue Kment has created a fantastic teacher’s gift with this Tissue Box which would look great on any desk!


Who doesn’t love Snoopy??? Loving the boldness is this card also from Sue Kment.  Make sure you check out her blog HERE for a few other projects using this Group Hugs stamp set from Paper Smooches.


There is so much detail in this stunning piece by Lisa Hoel.  She has been able to create a floating feeling as if the pieces are suspended in water. Fantastic decor piece Lisa!


Kath Stewart has created great texture and dimension in her artwork as she says hello to Autumn. The rich and warm colours really draw you in, beautiful Kath!

I don’t think there is anything better than having a handmade treat bag to go door to door with on that spooktacular night.  Kath has created the envy of the neighbourhood and I think chocolate will taste even better coming from it!

The Air is Full of Inspiration

It is always SO exciting opening the emails from our design team seeing their fabulous talent and creations.  We have so much to share with you this week so lets get started. I am sure you will enjoy all of the inspiration from our fabulous ladies this week!  Reminder to you all that our monthly challenge is going strong with Fall is in the Air and it is not too late to include your submissions HERE!  Deadline is midnight September 30, 2014.


First up we have this fun spooktacular card by Sue Kment.  What a great use of the Silhouette Halloween Frames with the cute Penny Black stamps.  There is just something about purple with Halloween. Super Cute, Sue!



Karin Akesdotter had some young at heart fun with Polyshrink and created this sweet, sweet card for that perfect ocassion. Love the little flowers!


Shelly Hickox knows how to do Halloween and this Pop it Ups Spooky Halloween card shows that the limits are endless with Karen Burniston’s dies.  Make sure to check out all the details on her blog in how she turned the holiday house into a spooky haunted one and to see the inside.

Yvonne Blair shares this beautifully vintage looking tag creation with all kinds of Tim Holtz goodness.  So glad you are getting inky Yvonne!

Lisa Hoel has got her rust on with this incredible steampunk piece.  There is so much detail to check out HERE!


Lisa also created this sketch challenge card with an great stamped background using the specialty stamp paper as the base.  Love this paper!


I am loving the warm colours Bobbi Smith has used in her Fall Banner.  I think this will make a perfect addition to fall decorating around the home. Beautiful piece Bobbi!


I have mentioned before just how versatile the Artist Trading Blocks are to incorporate into projects.  Anne Redfern has used them beautifully to create this great curiosity cabinet! Make sure you check out all the details in this project of Anne’s.

Inspiration Monday

Fall certainly is in the air with this beautiful assemblage clock from Lisa Hoel. What a great home decor piece for display this fall while enjoying the harvests from the land.



Karin Akesdotter shows us that we don’t have to have a certain stencil already to make a stunning card.  Creating your own stencils really allows for limitless possibilities.  Beautiful piece Karin!



I think Anne Redfern loves Halloween as much as I do and this functional assemblage clock is perfect for this spooky time of year!  The crackle is a great touch on this piece.  Great job, Anne!

You have to make sure to also check out Bobbi Smith‘s blog to see the up close details of this amazing tag.  There are so many great products and tricks used to create this layered treat.  Really love the vibrant colours!


This might not have been what Kath Stewart starting out to create but that is what I love about this craft.  We get amazing results like this card perfect for Fall and a great adaptation of September’s tag for 12 Tags of 2014 by Tim Holtz

Sue Kment is getting ready for some holiday gifts and this Stacked Snowman using Ideology’s Merriment paper is adorable.  This certainly is a gift within a gift because he could be on display for the whole season.


I have to apologize about not getting the rest of the design team profiles up last week but it truly was a CraZy week around here.  I promise they will be continued this week so make sure to check back for those as well as for Tutorial Wednesday.  This week Chelle is going to be having fun with texture paste, stencils, and distress markers…can’t wait to see!  h

Inspiration Monday

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all were able to celebrate those special people in your life yesterday filling that father role.  Hopefully you did so with a little creativity and whipped them up something extra special to show how very much you truly appreciate them.  Our design team certainly did this with their inspirational projects this month.

Inspiration Monday

Weekly Inspiration

We are back this week with more great inspiration to get your or keep your creative mojo going. Let’s get right to it and I have to say that all of these projects coming up fit perfectly for our monthly challenge of A Splash of Color.  The submissions are rolling in from you and that is awesome, its great to seeing everyone sharing their talent while getting in on some fun of possbily being randomly selected as our Emporium monthly winner!  Deadline is March 31 so if you haven’t entered there is still time.  There is not a limit on submissions so the more entries, the greater the chances of winning!


Alice Wertz is all about color and these two cards demonstrate it perfectly.  Beautiful work!

There is no better time to start your Christmas cards for the upcoming year.  Sue Kment has done just that with this colorful creation.
