Tag Travel Journal by Richele Christensen

Hello friends!

This month at Inspiration Emporium we are celebrating “My Summer Vacation”!

I thought a little travel journal would be fun.

We will be using Ranger’s giant #12 tags. These tags are great for card, mixed media project and our journal today. You will need 1-black tag for the cover and 4-kraft tags for the inside pages. Score and fold the tags in half, after folding the Kraft tags trim the inner pages cut them to 5 1/8” so the pages won’t stick out from the covers. Set aside.

Cut a piece of clear plastic 8 1/2” x 5 1/8”. Score and fold in half. Emboss the front with the Compass Texture Fade Embossing folder. Working on the embossed image add Distress Paint (Mustard Seed, Salty Ocean and Broken China). Using a baby wipe or damp paper towel blend the colors together. Wait for a few minutes, but before the paint dries, gentle wipe off excess paint with a dry towel.

Stamp the Globe from the Travel Blueprint set with Jet Black Archival Ink. Let dry. Color the Globe with Distress Markers (Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Gathered Twigs and Iced Spruce). Now use your Detail WaterBrush to smooth out the coloring. Be sure to keep light and dark area in your coloring. I kept the center of the ocean light. Ink the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool.

Stack all the pages and covers together. Place the fold on a cork surface or the like. Poke 3 holes, one in the middle and one on either side. Sew the book together by starting in the middle hole and thread the string from the outside to the inside. next thread the string in one of the outer holes. Now your on the

outside again. Thread the string to the opposite outer hole, then back through the center hole. To tie off the string be sure the ends are on opposite sides of the long stitch and tie a square knot. Now you have a journal.

Lets decorate the cover. Matt the Globe piece with a piece of rust Kraft-Core. Leave the Kraft-Core piece a little long so you have enough room for the word Journal from the Remnant Rubs. Distress the edges as desired. Accent with Mini Fasteners, a WordBand, Fleur di lis, Compass Coin and Game Spinner.

Now you can enjoy your journal. I cant wait to go on vacation and fill my journal with special memories.

Thanks, Richele
